This class consists of children starting at 4* years old with a teacher to child ratio of 1:9.
Our Pre-K classroom gives children opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences, purposeful play, conversation, creativity, and exploration. Children build the academic, social, emotional, and independence skills that prepare them for their next big step—kindergarten!
*NOTE: Children are placed in classes based on development not age.

What We’re Learning in Pre-K
Curious Learners — Children ask questions, investigate ideas, make choices, solve problems, and develop confidence as learners.
Language & Early Literacy — Stories, conversations, songs, writing experiences, letter knowledge, vocabulary, and early reading skills are woven throughout the day.
Early Math — Children explore counting, numbers, patterns, shapes, sorting, measurement, and problem-solving through play and hands-on activities.
Science & Discovery — Children investigate nature, experiment with materials, make predictions, observe changes, and discover how the world works.
Social & Emotional Growth — We practice expressing feelings, building friendships, taking turns, resolving conflicts, following routines, and becoming increasingly independent.
Healthy Bodies & Movement — Indoor and outdoor experiences help children strengthen fine-motor skills, coordination, balance, body awareness, and healthy habits.
Creative Expression — Art, music, movement, dramatic play, and open-ended materials give children opportunities to express their own ideas.
Our Community & World — Children learn about families, community helpers, traditions, similarities and differences, and the world around them.

Abby
Abby has been teaching at The Launching Pad for over 6 years. She has her Associates degree in Child Development and an Oklahoma Certificate of Mastery in Child Development from OCCC. She is currently working on her Bachelors Degree in Child Development from SEOU. Abby is the middle child in a big family with deep family values. She is happily married and has a beautiful baby boy. Abby enjoys camping, comedy shows, cruises and hanging out with her friends and family.

Susan
Susan has achieved an Associates degree in Child Development from OU, an Associates degree in Diversified Studies from OCCC, and a Certificate of Mastery in Multimedia from OCCC. She has over 15 years of experience in child care, and five of those were spent here at TLP from 1992-1997! She loves books, all things StarWars, and Disney World.
